The Eurocis trade fair in Düsseldorf (Germany) opened its doors yesterday for three days and attracted a good number of visitors. Around 500 companies from 35 countries presented their retail technology solutions to retailers in Halls 9 and 10. IT decision-makers and logistics specialists from the DIY retail sector have also been visiting the trade fair since the first day. Exhibitors have so far been largely satisfied with the discussions at the trade fair, although some would have liked to see a slightly higher visitor frequency on the first day of the fair - despite the generally well-filled aisles and booths.

The trade fair focuses primarily on the topics of merchandise and supply chain management, POS software and hardware, HR, robotics, security and loss prevention, cash management and pricing. New developments will be driven primarily by the food sector. Unsurprisingly, artificial intelligence is a key trend in many applications. Cybersecurity is also perceived as an even more important topic.
