Globus Baumärkte recorded an improved result in the first half of the 2024/2025 financial year (1 July to 31 December 2024) compared to the previous year, the company reports, without providing specific figures. At the same time, the DIY store operator is confronted with continued consumer restraint across the industry and further challenging conditions, particularly in construction-related trades, according to the statement.
New shop fitting concept
The focus remains on continuously optimising the shopping experience for customers, the provider emphasises. This includes expanding services at each location and investing in digital offerings, such as the relaunch of the customer app. In addition, two modernisation projects have been launched in Rottenburg and Zweibrücken, which include the implementation of a completely new shop design concept and the installation of additional services.
With gross sales of EUR 4.90 bn (including petrol stations), the Globus Group as a whole achieved earnings of EUR 173.3 mio (EBIT), which is slightly above the previous year's level. "We are satisfied with the development in the first half of the financial year and can continue the positive trend in the second half of the year," says Matthias Bruch, Managing Partner of the Globus Group. "Our decentralised positioning and the associated local entrepreneurship enable us to react quickly and flexibly to changes in the environment and customer behaviour," he is convinced.
